We're an independently owned and operated agency in Kinston, North Carolina and we deliver insurance and risk management solutions. We’ve served individuals and businesses for almost eight decades and we are dedicated to giving clients the best products and services we can. We put our clients first and we meet their needs before we meet our own. We also act in our clients' interests before we act in our own, and this ensures that we create the best policies and provide services that make buying and using insurance easy and beneficial.
History
Jake A. Parrott Insurance, Inc. was established by Jacob Allen Parrott in 1937. His son, J. Allen Parrott, Jr. joined the agency in 1969 and took over leadership in 1970. Soon growth dictated an addition, and in 1974 James H. Parrott, the other son, joined the agency. In 1975, the agency was purchased from the founder's wife, Elizabeth H. Parrott, and incorporated at that time.
The agency was started as a personal lines agency with an emphasis on farm and crop insurance. Since then, we have grown into a full-service agency. Even though our look may have changed over the years, we remain cemented on a firm foundation of commitment to citizens and businesses of our community and state. Our services reflect this commitment. We have a deeply rooted tradition of providing our clients with the right coverage at the right price.
What we offer
We have a wide variety of insurance offerings, including home, auto, life, and recreational vehicle. For commercial enterprises we have a business program that provides coverages that protect fully for the right price. We also have specific-industry programs that have coverages that are unique to different lines of work. If a business is covering its employees we have options that can keep the employees secure and that can help operations run smoothly.
Our farm program gives any farmer the opportunities he or she needs to stay protected and to run operations without interruption. There are a lot of farms in North Carolina and farming plays a large role in our economy, so this program is of great value to many people.
Our approach and our community involvement
We work with a large number of carriers to ensure that clients have the greatest possible selection of insurance choices. We also provide personalized services so that clients understand their purchases and are always supported. We work closely with clients so that we understand their needs. We identify coverages that meet clients' needs and we create solutions that fit best. Once they’re in place we monitor these solutions and we keep clients informed.
We actively manage risk, and this helps diminish the chances that clients will need to use their insurance. If insurance is used and claims are filed, we manage the claims. We’re reachable whenever clients need to get a hold of us and if messages are left then we respond to the messages promptly. These are just a few of the things that we do to ensure that clients have best products and services possible.
The hands-on approach that we take to delivering products and services is similar to the approach that we take to involving ourselves in the communities we serve. We’re members of the Kinston-Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce and we're on the board of the local branch of the Salvation Army. We work with the North Carolina Nursery and Landscape Association and the Rotary International Club. We lead local Boy Scout troops and we attend local events whenever we can. We work with local organizations at whatever capacities are possible and we support causes that relate to our area.
